Josh Krajcik – Blindly, Lonely, Lovely

For those who don’t know who Josh Krajcik is, he was a contestant on The X-Factor US back in 2011. My boyfriend and I were fans from the beginning. He finished second, but gladly the road didn’t end up there for him. At the beginning of April 2013 he released an album “Blindly, Lonely, Lovely”.

I know I’m so late to the party and I’m really sorry I didn’t take the time to listen to it before. Well, I’ve heard a few songs right after he released it, but I just heard the whole album a few days ago. And I love it. Love it! Every single song.

Songs are a good mix of blues, rock, pop and soul. It’s really very difficult to select a favorite one because all are very beautiful, each in its own way. But if I really have to point out a song, I’d choose “The Remedy”. It’s a pure blues and it slightly reminds me of John Mayer with a distinctive guitar sound and at times of Joe Cocker with his typical “scream” in the middle of the song and backing vocals… Uh, I get goosebumps whenever I hear this song. I actually have it on repeat today.

The song is immediately followed by folk oriented ballad “No Better Lovers”, a soulful “Close Your Eyes” (it’s a simple song, just his voice and a guitar, but still wonderful) and a heartbreaking “Let Me Hold You”. On the album you can also find “Nothing”, “Back Where We Belong”, “When You Go”, “Don’t Make Me Hopeful”, “One Thing She’ll Never Know” and “Her Song”.

I have to say, it’s one of the best albums I’ve heard in a very long time.

“Blindly, Lonely, Lovely” isn’t his first album. Previously he released 2 independant albums with his band. I haven’t heard those 2 yet, but since I love this one, I’ll definitely take time to listen to them, too.
