How is it possible that I haven’t heard of Passenger before?

Do you know a singer-songwriter Mike Rosenberg, better known as Passenger? I have to admit that I haven’t heard of him before and he’s obviously quite popular. Some of his songs have a few millions views on YouTube. I mean… Halo?! Where do I live? Under a rock or something?

When I first heard him sing, I immediately fell in love with his voice. At first I thought it’s Paul McDonald (one of the contestants on the 10th season of American Idol). But then, with a little help from an app “SoundHound” (you got to love today’s technology), I discovered it’s actually Passenger.

Of course I googled him and I found out that Passenger was originally a name of a British alternative pop/rock/folk band Mike was in. Their debut album “Wicked Man’s Rest” was released in 2007, but soon after the release, the band broke up. Mike kept the name Passenger for his solo work.

His debut solo album “Wide Eyes Blind Love” was released in 2009, followed by albums “Flight of the Crow”, “Divers and Submarines” and “All the Little Lights”. I must admit that I haven’t yet heard all of his songs, but the ones I have … I just love them.

My absolute favorite is “Let Her Go” (which, btw, has topped the charts in 16 countries so far). I absolutely love the lyrics of this song! I love everything, in the matter of fact. His voice, the melody,… Everything.
